I don't prefer romantic movies and love-stories, but somehow I had a strong feeling that I must watch this one. It is an uncompromisingly honest look at modern relationships. Closer is the story of four strangers, their chance meetings, instant attractions, and brutal betrayals.
One more reason to watch was an excellent cast: Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen.
That was a strange expirience...I found it no emotionally at all. For the first look it is just a type of events, but somehow it keeps you excited during all over 100 minuts. Also, it is one of the rare american movies with unpredictable end :)
Honestly, "Closer" leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. Maybe because anyone meets something similar from a real life.
One more thing: there is an idea of a concept of lie I found interesting. Being honest to ruin relationships or to save it?
Trying to characterize the movie in one sentense, I would say that it shows the contrast between strong and weak people and their thoughts and actions.
